It is preferable to take herbal medicines which not only cure the diseases but also prevents them. They increase the resistance power of the body to fight against the diseases. One of the herbal medicines prepared by Guru Ramdevji is the Divya Panchakol Chaoorna. This herbal medicine is prepared by mixing various herbs in powder form. The herbs included in this medicine are long pepper (pipli), roots of long pepper (piplimul), ginger, stem of chavika (piper chava) and the roots of chitraka (plumbago zeylanica). The powder is made by grounding equal amounts of the above five herbs. This herbal medicine is used to treat indigestion problems and many stomach related diseases. The herbs taken in this medicine not only cures various diseases but also prevents the diseases.

In Ayurveda, pippali is considered as one of the renowned herbs which not only cures the stomach related diseases but also treats the respiratory and lungs disorders. It is efficient in four ways: it can be used as a spice, it can be used as a home remedy, it is a powerful herb used in many ayurvedic medicines and it is a catalyst which increases the potentiality of other herbs and drugs. It contains alkaloids, terpenoids and volatile oil which reduce pitta of the body. Apart from this, it acts as an expectorant, lung rejuvenator, decongestant and bronchodilator.

The dosage prescribed by the practitioners is 10 to 30 grains twice a day with warm water or milk.
