anorexia1Anorexia can be termed as disliking of food, lack of appetite, digestion disturbamce or eating disorder. It can happen to anybody at any age. The person starts disliking food and starts reducing weight. It also results in losing the immunity. There are various causes of anorexia like a will to look slim, some tension, family issues or psychological issues.

Here are few home remedies for Anorexia

Use of Ginger and Rock Salt – Take a piece of ginger and peel it. Add 3-4 drops of lemon juice, a pinch of asafetida and a pinch of black pepper to it. Blend these ingredients well to make a fine paste. Have this daily on an empty stomach for 10-15 days. It is a well known home remedy for anorexia. It also improves your appetite.

Eat Oranges – Eat 1-2 fresh oranges daily to improve your appetite. It is very effective home remedy for anorexia.

Eat Apples – It is a well known saying that ‘An apple a day, keeps the doctor away’. Eat an apple daily to increase the appetite and smoothens the digestion.

Use of Ginger and Lime Juice – Extract the juice of small piece of ginger. Add equal quantity of lime juice and a pinch of rock salt to it. Store the solution in a bottle and keep the bottle in sunlight for 3-4 days. Have a teaspoon full of this drink after every meal to cure anorexia. Your hunger will start increasing. It is a simple home remedy for anorexia.

Use of Cloves and Lime Juice – Boil a cup of water and add 3-4 cloves in it. After boiling, mix ½ teaspoon lime juice to it. Drink this solution two times daily. Regular use of this drink increases the appetite and is an herbal home remedy for anorexia.

Use of Garlic – Garlic stimulates the digestive power. Include garlic to your daily diet to increase the appetite.

Use of Raw Tomato – Tomatoes are known to be very good in increasing the appetite. Have 2-3 tomatoes daily on an empty stomach. You can use black pepper and salt to make the taste. It is a simple home remedy for anorexia.

Vegetable Soup – Soup is known to be very good to increase the appetite. Vegetable Soup is considered to be best among all. Add a pinch of black pepper and rock salt to make the taste. Have soup daily an hour before dinner. It helps in treating anorexia.

Chicken Soup – Non-Vegetarians can have chicken soup. It is also a good remedy to cure anorexia.

Eat salad – Green vegetables are rich source of fiber. Add lots of green vegetables to your diet to cure anorexia. Cabbage, Cucumbers, capsicums, tomatoes and beans are known to be best in increasing the appetite. Sprinkle some salt, black pepper and lemon juice to enhance the taste of salad.

Use of basil leaves – Eat 3-4 basil leaves daily to get a good memory and increase appetite.

Use of Sour Grapes – Juice of sour grapes is a well known home remedy for anorexia. You can also mix this juice in the flour while making dough or can consume it directly. This juice tones up the stomach and helps in increasing the appetite.

Use of Herbs – Some herbs like chamomile, centaury, gentian, marjoram, hops, hawthorn, sage, myrrh, lavender, thyme, yarrow and tarragon are very good for increasing appetite. These herbs also increase hunger.

Have Spicy foods – Sometimes the disliking of food occurs due to routine simple food. Have spicy food sometimes (spicy doesn’t means oily) to develop the taste and increase the appetite.
