Yeast-InfectionYeast Infection is a kind of fungal infection that is caused by the fungus named Candida albicans. Most of the women get this infection once in a lifetime. It occurs mainly during pregnancy. It is most common problem occurs in women after menopause. Yeast infection can affect any body part of men/women but it is mainly seen in the vaginal/genital area. The most common symptoms of yeast infection are itching, swelling, burning around the vaginal/genital area.

Home Remedies for Yeast Infection

Yogurt – can be used internally as well as externally to fight against yeast. For external use, dip a tampon of cotton in simple yogurt which is also unsweeten and insert the tampon directly in the vagina for about 2 hours. After two hours, clean the area with water else it will start itching. Repeat this process twice a day till the infection is gone. You can also eat yogurt before taking meals.

Garlic – is best remedy to fight against yeast infection. All you have to do is to insert a garlic clove directly into the vagina. Repeat this for two days every few hours. Garlic is a big enemy of yeast. Garlic cloves can be taken internally as well. You can mince the garlic and swallow it with water. This is a natural home remedy for yeast infection.

Tea Tree Oil – is another effective home remedy which is helpful to treat yeast infection. Take one teaspoon of tea tree oil, 1 teaspoon of rubbing alcohol. Mix the solution. Add 10 drops of this solution in 16 ounces of water and rinse the vagina with it. Repeat it for seven days. Don’t try any remedy during pregnancy rather consult the doctor.

Water – is the most effective remedy to fight against any disease. Drink about eight to ten glasses in a day. Moreover, make sure that the water you drink should be filtered and free from any type of toxins.

Apple cider Vinegar is a remedy to fight against yeast infection but this is a temporary remedy. Apple cider vinegar can be used externally as well as internally. Add a cup of vinegar to the bath tub and fill the bath tub with lukewarm water. Take a nice bath. You will get a relief from the infection. Never apply vinegar to the effected area. It will burn like anything.

Honey – is another external remedy for yeast infection. Apply honey on the affected area and leave it for about 15 minutes. Then wash it off with warm water.

Boric acid capsules – are used externally to fight against yeast infection. Insert the capsules into the infected area. Leave it overnight and repeat this process for several days. One of the useful home remedies for yeast infection.

Buttermilk – Drink a glass of buttermilk every night to kill yeast infection.

Oregano Oil – should be taken internally. Oregano is herb that is an enemy of yeast. The oil should have high carvacrol content.

Eucalyptus-Oil

Mix 5 grams of potassium sorbate in 16 ounces of water. Soak a tampon of cotton in it and insert it in the vagina. Keep it overnight.

Wash the affected area with mixture of olive leaf extract, grapefruit seed extract and water. This is a good remedy to treat yeast infection.

Baby Oil – Application of baby oil with amla and Vitamin E to the affected area. This will provide relief from itching and thus infection.

Avoid wearing tight jeans and tight under-garments. Wear underwear of cotton that is breathable.

Avoid taking birth control pills, antibiotics as these weaken the immune system of the body.

Prepare a mixture of camphor and coconut oil. Apply it on the opening of the vagina. This will help in reducing the itchiness.

Brandy is also a good remedy for yeast infection. Wash the vagina with good quality of brandy. Repeat it for several days.

Eat the mixture of pulp of a banana, juice of a gooseberry and sugar once a day to heal the yeast infection.
