Head lice are small creatures that generally took place in the dirty scalp. It can result in itchy scalp, irritation and white oval shaped eggs attached with the hair. Many people use some chemical treatments to get rid of head lice but these are no safe as it can provide some side effects. Home Remedies for Head Lice

Lemon Juice- Lemon juice is known as one of the finest home remedies for head lice. Take a fresh lemon and extract juice from it. Now add garlic paste in the 2 tablespoon of the juice. You can apply this paste over your scalp. Leave it for about 30-35 minutes. Wash the hair with water. It helps to remove all the dirt and head lice along with its eggs.

Olive Oil- Olive oil is used as a killing agent of head lice. Take olive oil and apply a rich amount of olive oil over the hair and cover the head with a plastic bag. Leave it overnight. Next morning, comb your hair and take out all lice along with eggs from the hair. You can repeat the process after every 10 days.

Almond- Soak about 12 almonds in water and next morning prepare a paste from it. Add 4 tablespoons of lemon juice in it. Apply the resulting paste over the scalp; leave it to dry for 2 hours. Wash the hair with cold water. It is one of the effective home remedy for head lice.

Alcohol- Alcohol helps to eradicate lice. So, take some alcohol and massage the hair with that. Leave it for half an hour. Wash the hair. You can try this one time a week.

Egg Yolk- Take egg yolk of 2 eggs and mix 3 tablespoons of vinegar and 3 tablespoons of lemon juice in it. Mix the three well and apply the resulting paste over the scalp. Keep it as it is for 30 minutes and allow it dry. Wash the hair with warm water. This is an excellent home remedy for head lice.

Vaseline- Take some Vaseline and apply it over the scalp. If you don’t want to use Vaseline you can replace it with saving cream as it will provide same effects.

Margosa (Neem) Leaves- Neem leaves are wonderful antibiotic properties. Collect some fresh leaves and grind them to make a fine paste. Apply over the scalp and wash after 30 minutes. You can repeat the process two times a week.

Holy Basil (Tulsi)- Take 20-30 leaves of holy basil. You can either use the plain paste of these leaves or mix paste of margosa leaves in it. Apply the resulted paste over the scalp. Leave it as it is for ½ an hour to make it dry. Wash later. You can use this 2-3 times a week. It is one of the useful home remedies for head lice.

Apple Cider Vinegar- Vinegar is good for treating head lice. Take about 4 tablespoons of vinegar and add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and garlic paste in it. Mix the all well and apply this over the scalp. Leave it for 2 hours to dry and wash it off. You can retry this for 3-4 times a month. It will show great results and an effective home remedy for head lice.

Mayonnaise- Take some mayonnaise and apply it equally over the scalp. Now, cover the scalp with a plastic bag. Leave it for next one hour and heat it with blow dryer for 5 minutes. Rinse the hair with water and you can also use regular hair gel. With the help of wide toothed comb you can remove the eggs and nits from hair.
