Home Remedies for Eczema

Eczema or dermatitis is a chronic skin disorder which causes gentle irritation on skin. It can affect any part of your body but the most affected areas are knees, arms, elbows, neck, upper chest and face. Nutritional deficiency, allergy to changing weather and defect in body metabolism are few causes of eczema.Home remedies can work wonders as compared to medical drugs.

Home Remedies for eczema

Take 5-6 basil leaves, 2 garlic cloves, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, a pinch of salt and a pinch of pepper. Grind all the ingredients to make a thick paste. Apply this paste on the affected area.

Mudpack is very beneficial for eczema affected areas. Use this once a week to prevent eczema.

Mix 1 teaspoon sandalwood paste to 1 teaspoon camphor. Apply it on infected area.

Take ½ cup of water and add ½ teaspoon turmeric in it. Drink this once daily to treat eczema.

Very common home remedy for eczema is coconut oil. Apply coconut oil on the infected areas 5-6 times daily. It keeps them dry and helps in improving.

You can also apply a mixture of carrot and spinach juice over the eczema affected areas.

Take 2 cups of water. Add 1 tablespoon white oak bark, 1 tablespoon comfrey root and 1 tablespoon slippery elm bark to it. Boil for 30 minutes. Wash the infected areas with this lukewarm water. It is very effective home remedy for eczema.

Drink at least 10-15 glasses of water every day.

Take a cup of water and add 1 tablespoon of vinegar, 1 tablespoon of honey and some instant tea. It is very beneficial in treating eczema.

Another common home remedy for eczema can be made with vinegar and water. Take 20 cups of hot water and add 5 cups of vinegar to it. Soak your feet (or the infected part) in this at least for 15-20 minutes. Now use a fresh towel to dry your feet. Try to keep the affected part as dry as possible.

Tomato juice works best for eczema patients. It not only treats but also prevents eczema. You can add some pepper also.

Use mild soap for your skin. Pine Tar soap is best for eczema affected areas.

Take 200 gm of mustard oil and boil that in an iron utensil. Add 50 gm of neem leaves to it. After that drain the leaves and store the oil in a bottle. Apply the oil 3-4 times daily on the infected areas. Regular use of this oil prevents the occurrence of eczema.

Rays of sun act as natural medicine to eczema. Expose the affected area to mild rays daily. It kills harmful bacteria.

Take spearmint leaves and extract their juice. Apply it over the affected areas to reduce eczema.

Take 1 tablespoon of neem leaves and 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder. Mix them to make a paste. Apply it over eczema affected areas 2-3 times daily. It is very effective and well known home remedy for eczema.

Take few almond leaves and mash with water. Apply it over infected areas. It helps in reducing eczema.

Use fresh socks, handkerchief and towel.

Take a cup of boiled water and add 1 tablespoon red henna to it. Apply this on the eczema affected area 3-4 times daily. This is a natural and well known home remedy for eczema.

Watermelon peel works best on eczema. Apply it 2-3 times daily.

Take a witch hazel and rub it on eczema affected area with cotton ball 5-6 times daily.

Mix 1 tablespoon of grinded garlic with 1 tablespoon of honey. Apply the paste on affected area and wrap it with some nylon cloth. Leave for overnight. Remove the bandage and wash with alcohol.

Take few papaya seeds and mash them properly. Apply this over the infected areas to get relief from itching. It is a very simple home remedy for eczema.
