Home Remedies for Asthma

An asthmatic person experiences breathing snags due to narrowing of air passage in respiratory tract. Improper breathing, continuous cough, breathing with a whistle like sound, wheezing etc are few of the symptoms of asthma. Major causes of asthma are choked lungs, allergies, changing weather conditions and soreness in respiratory organs. It is advisable that asthma patients should carry a respirator or inhaler with him always. It lets the air to enter by opening up the respiratory canal.

Home Remedies for Asthma

· Make a habit of chewing black pepper before sleeping to get relief. It is very useful in early stages of asthma.

· Inhale the steam from boiling water and ajwain two times daily to widen the bronchial passages.

· You can make a tonic for asthma treatment by mixing 1 tablespoon of honey with 5 gramsms of gooseberry (amla). Take this in morning everyday for dramatic improvement.

· Honey is the most popular home remedy for asthma and it is the key ingredient of kitchen. To make the breathing easy, place a jug of honey under asthma patient’s nose such that he can inhale the air which comes into contact by honey.

· Take 200ml of water and add a handful of drumstick leaves to it. Boil it for 5-10 minutes to make soup. After that, drain the leaves off and add some salt, lime juice or pepper (according to the taste). Take this juice once daily. One of the best home remedies for asthma

· Lemon juice is very useful for asthma patients. Take a glass of water and add juice of one lemon to it. Take this with meals for good results. It is very well known home remedy for asthma.

· You can also mix some lemon juice with ginger. Daily consumption of this keeps the asthma attacks away. One of the useful home remedies for asthma

· Take 3-4 dry figs and clean them properly with lukewarm water. Soak the cleaned figs overnight and eat in morning. It helps in phlegm draining.

· Take half teaspoon of powder of the dry Safflower seeds and add a tablespoon of honey. Take once or twice daily to treat bronchial asthma.

· Bitter Gourd routes are known to be very beneficial for asthma treatment. Make a teaspoon of root paste and mix with same amount of honey or tulsi leaves (juice). Take this paste before going to bed for a month. One of the effective home remedies for asthma

· Garlic is a well liked and very effective home remedy for asthma. Take 30ml of milk and boil 10 garlic cloves in it. Take this once daily.

· Take few leaves of holy basil and add some honey and black pepper to it. Consume the mixture every morning to stay fit and get temporary relief from asthmatic attacks. You can also chew leaves of holy basil along with salt for attack prevention.

· Take one tablespoon of turmeric powder and add one tablespoon of honey to it. Consume this daily to get quick relief.

· Mullein oil fights respiratory clogging. For quick results, consume it as a tea.

· In some patients, asthma attacks can be triggered by exercise. In that case, take 2000 mg of Vitamin C at least 45 minutes before starting exercise. It is advisable to reduce the amount of salt in the diet.

· You can make a tea by mixing 2 teaspoons of Indian root (powdered form), 2 teaspoons of elecampane root and 2 teaspoons of Echinacea root (granulated) to 2 cups of water. It is very effective for asthma treatment. This is one of the superb home remedy for asthma

· Consume fresh cabbage juice daily to get rid of asthma.

· When you feel the symptoms of attack, take a glass of pure milk or a cup of hot dark tea for quick relief.

· Take 1 radish and blend it. Add some honey and lemon juice to it. Mix these for near about 15-20 minutes and cook on low heat. It is proved to be very beneficial for fighting asthma attacks.

· Boil fresh cranberries in water. After boiling, drain the water and mash the berries. Take 2 teaspoons daily.

· Take half cup of milk and add a teaspoon of pure honey, a teaspoon of olive oil, some garlic. Consume daily to fight asthma.

· Take some mustard oil and add a little camphor to it. Massage the chest with this oil to loosen up phlegm.
