Ingredients: Its main ingredient is the dried powder of Amla or Amalaki (Phyllanthus Emblica).

Dosage: One teaspoonful (5 gms.) to be taken twice daily with water. It should be preferably taken at bed time with warm water.

Contraindication: Divya Amla Churna is a completely herbal product without any known side-effects. But still it should be used only in small amounts in diarrhea and should be used with caution during pregnancy. Consult your physician prior to taking amla regularly if you have any heart ailments.

Amla contains gallic acid, phyllemblin, phyllemblic acid, emblicol, ellagic acid, chebulagic acid, glucogallin, corilagin, 3, 6-digalloyl glucose, putranjivin A, emblicanin A and B, punigluconin, pedunculagin and quercetin. It is also a rich source of Ascorbic acid. It helps to fight free radicals (unstable ions which are present in the body).

In a study carried out for clinical purposes, the diet of normal and hypercholesterolaemic men aged 35-55 years was supplemented with Amla for twenty-eight days. Both groups showed a decrease in total serum cholesterol levels, which within two weeks returned almost to their initial values after stopping the administration of Amla. Amla is one of the chief constituents of a siddha preparation used for the prevention and reversal of atherosclerotic disease.

Amla is proved to be an antioxidant, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anabolic, anti-hepatoxic, anti-hyperhidrosis, anti-inflammatory, anti-histaminic, anti-spasmodic and hypertensive relieving properties.
